Final, a stressful tale.

I'm not even off Thanksgiving break yet and I'm already having anxiety about my up coming finals. Finals are something we deal with every year since we started high school. But college is a whole new level of stress. You're grades and GPA aren't about getting into a good school anymore they're about what you're going to do THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. If that doesn't scare the snot out of you i don't know what would. First of all Im a terrible studier, I'm also the kid you probably hated in high school who never studied for anything but somehow managed to get a decent grade on the test. Now this was great in high school but its screwing me over in college. I never really learned how to study because i just didn't need to. Now however i need to. I was going to sit down and write you all a post about how to over come final stress and studying tips but lets be real i don't know how to myself and i suck at studying so... This post is me venting about how freaking stressed i am about my classes. I have 2 weeks till finals and let me just tell you these next two weeks will be nothing but me reading all the text books i neglected all semester and praying. A LOT of praying to the study gods that somehow i pass all my class
Peace Love and No stress,

Christmas in a Dorm Room

Now that Christmas time is upon us, it's hit me hard that I won't be home for most of the holiday season. I'll be spending much of my time this holiday season in my dorm room or in the library. I've decided though that no matter where I am i want to make my space a little more festive. So I'm here to give you some ideas on how to spruce up your dorm room or small apartment or even bedroom for Christmas time!

String of lights: I know many people have this all the time hanging around but I didn't bring them with me to my school. Since its a fire hazard to have them dangling, I plan on hanging mine around the perimeter of the room and over my bed (pictures of my own room to come when I get back to school)

Stockings: this sounds silly and obvious but it really adds spirit to full rooms, my roommate and I plan on hanjng ours on the outside of our door to give our room appeal from the hallway as well!

Small tree/ garland: personally my room isn't big enough for any size tree but it does have room for a bowl full of garland with ornaments throw in to make it look festive. This is a picture of my friends room who was able to fit a 6ft tree
You could also add any small decorations that don't take up too much space but make your room cozier for the winter season! Christmas scents also make rooms much more inviting and festive!!

Until next time

The great header hassle of 2014

Hey lovelies,
I'm officially on fall break and the weather seems to have gotten the memo, the last few days its been rainy, dreary and in the 50's, brr. Besides catching up on school work I've spent this time looking up blogging tips and ideas and basically trying to figure out how to get a stinkin' cute header to fit which has proved to be quite the hassle. Now I though before I get to the post you really want for read, (Recruitment rewind, fall fashion, etc) I figured I would give you a taste of what Kansas fall weather feels like. Lets just say I am already living in leggings, hunter boots and a plethora of comfy but cute tops.
For example today all I did was pet my cats who I've missed dearly, watch about a season of Gilmore Girls and bake while it rained about a billion inches. But besides all the rain, fall is my absolute favorite. I love the sweaters and boots and the typical things everyone loves about fall but i also love it because its my favorite fashion time! My vest obsession rears its head around this time and I busted it out for the first time at the pumpkin patch and man did that feel good. This pumpkin patch I speak of I went to with all of my sorority sisters and it was a basic white girls dream. 180 sorority girls wearing boots, cardigans, vest, plaid, scarves, drinking hot cider and taking pictures in a pumpkin patch, but I had an amazing time.
Now until I get my blogging life together, have a wonderful fall filled week!

IM BACK!

Hey lovelies,
So I've been gone for 2 months now and I apologize my life has been one big none stop cycle. I started college, went through recruitment and joined the sorority of my dreams. Now that I have settled into a routine and know the ropes of what it is to be a college student a little better im back and ready to blog more than ever. I have so many fun ideas to do and plan on making things a lot more interesting. I thought a whole post about recruitment and what it's like might be helpful to all you high school seniors out there, I know I loved reading things like that even just a week before recruitment. ANYWAY. I joined Delta Gamma and I am still over the moon in love with the chapter and all my new sisters.

Fall break starts tomorrow and I'm heading home
And plan on spending my time revamping the blog! I've missed blogging

Friday Favorites: Stores

On Fridays I have decided I'm going to start a favorites segment. I'm going to kick it off by the most obvious choice... my favorite places to shop! Now there are certain reasons I love each of these stores and many of them are not just for their cute clothes but for the deals they offer or the student discounts or frankly their customer service.

The first store I shop at religiously is Nordstrom's, I love Nordstrom's one because they have so much to choose from. They have basically anything you could want in life, well clothing wise. Recently I posted about the Tory Burch boots and sandals I got and I got them both at the Nordstrom's anniversary sale. The sandals were full price but the boots were 200 dollars off!! I also love Nordstrom's because they have free shipping and free returns online and I mean come on it doesn't get much better than that!

Another favorite of mine is a Lilly Pulitzer store in my area, as we all know they aren't just called Lilly Pulitzer stores but they have cute little names and the one closest to me is called "Under the Palm" Its absolutely adorable and has everything Lilly you could possibly want. They also run really good sales from time to time, I've gotten a Lilly dress that was originally 184 for 100 dollars.

Yet another store I adore is Jcrew and Jcrew Factory. Jcrew has been a favorite of mine for a long time because my mom dressed me in it when I was little as well. But recently i have been LOVING Jcrew factory. Like every other blogger out there I recently ordered the Herringbone vest that they got back in stock finally and got an amazing deal on it. Thats what I love about the factory store is the great buys you can find. When it comes to the actual Jcrew though they do have much better quality, I have pairs of Chinos from both stores and the ones from Jcrew are a lot thicker and better quality but thats really the only difference in my eyes.

Then of course Target is an all time favorite simply because its Target and it has everything I could every need and is a great therapeutic method I use more often than I would like to admit.

Thats all for today!

On Wednesdays, I Don't Wear Pink

Now I know most bloggers I follow seem to dress up every single day, but in my life thats just not realistic. Days like today where all I did was say goodbye to a friend and hang around her houses does not call for a full fledged outfit or really anything other than Nike Shorts a T-shirt and a tumbler. Don't get me wrong I love feeling put together but other days I can just have a few accessories or things I cary with me and I feel just as complete. Today those things were my iPad Mini (which I rarely leave the house without) My Michael Kors watch, Lilly Pulitzer notebook, Kate Spade Wallet and the closest tumbler to me.
To some it may seem like a strange array of items but each one has a significance. My iPad is much like my phone, I feel naked without it. My watch just adds a little bling to my mostly plain outfit. The notebook is something I always carry in case I have ideas I don't want to forget or quotes I see I like or anything along those lines, and then of course wallet for money and the tumbler because I'm a water addict. Basically the point of this post is to just say that for me, I don't have to be all dressed up to feel good and like I have my life together, (though I admit most of the time the only time I feel like I do is when I'm dressed well) but that accessories are a girls best friend!

Monday- Outfit of the day

So I felt like I hasn't really dressed up in forever or at least actually tried to be presentable... So I went through my closet and found a dress I hadn't worn in forever but I still love it, I got it a few years back at Urban outfitters. It is a plain blue lace dress so I needed to accessorize so I threw on a bauble bar statement necklace and my Michael kors watch stacked with Alex and Ani bracelets! For shoes of course my jacks were a must!!
Until next time!!

Shopping overload

Hey y'all, so over the last week I have shopped entirely too much. The majority of it was online of course but I went outlet shopping earlier today and went a little crazy at the Polo Factory Outlet, then came home to two new pairs of Jack Rogers I had ordered a few weeks ago... I know I  have a real problem.
I counted and in the last week or so I've ordered/bought eight new pairs of shoes. Let's just say in set for the next 50 years. Now don't think I just spend loads of money, most of the shoes I got were on sale, for example the boots I talked about in my last post and the jack Rogers I got for 82 as opposed to like 110 I think, don't quote me on the real price! Also at Polo everything I got was 30% off and then I had an additional 20% off coupon so over all I got a really good deal! I
Needed some new slim fit button downs for school so I picked up a few of those, a few short sleve T-shirts, a long sleve, and two hats. Let me just tell you the factory store is the way to go when it comes to polo, such better deals.
If you would like to see the rest of the things I've gotten In the last few weeks just let me know!

That's all for now!

Almost Time for School

Today marks 28 days until I move up to school and start the recruitment process to join a sorority. To say I'm nervous is an understatement, of course I'm excited as well but just the thought of moving out of my home town which I have lived in since I was born scares the pants off of me!  I will only be about two and a half hours away from home but still I mean come on what college freshman isn't at least a little nervous about what this next year will bring.
On the other hand, I am extremely excited as well! Plus all the shopping my mom and I have been doing lately to get me ready for school is a definite plus. I never really realized just how much stuff I was going to need until we made our Bed Bath & Beyond trip last weekend and had to use two shopping carts to fit everything. (Given comforters and mattress bass are large and took up an abundant amount of space) Im living in an all girls dorm where the majority of the girls who are going through recruitment live and though I don't know my roommate per say, she's a family friend... my brother-in-laws, brothers, girlfriends, cousin. (I know very abstract) Luckily she is rushing too, along with just about our whole dorm. We move up a week before the rest of the students and go through 5 days of recruitment and going to the houses. Im a whole other level of nervous for this! Though my sister was a Delta Gamma so I'm a legacy there it still does not guarantee anything for me. Hopefully all goes well and I find a house I love. But for now ill be content shopping for outfits for that week!
My latest purchases are from the Nordstrom's anniversary sale they have going on. It just about killed me to spend as much money as I did but I really got a great deal. First I got  a pair of Tory Burch "Miller" logo sandals in sand for 195$ (they weren't on sale).
The killer purchase of the day was the Tory Burch "Eloise" boots I have had my eye on for
about a year in dark coconut. Now they usually run about 500 smack a roos but low and
behold they were part of the sale and were down to 299.As much as it pained me to spend that much on two pairs of shoes, I'm so in love with them both.
Thats pretty much all I have for now! Until next time!
